Most of the products in the green tea collection were created after an experiment with duct tape went horribly wrong. In an attempt to rid myself of tiny warts that had suddenly appeared on my chest, I applied duct tape to the area. Silly, I know, but in my defense, did CBS not run a story touting its use as “a more effective, less painful alternative to liquid nitrogen?”
Instead, I had an allergic reaction to the glue in the tape which left my skin irritated, hyperpigmented, and feeling like leather. After recovering from the initial shock, my number one priority was to get the feel of the skin to return to normal, which meant that it had to be hydrated, intensely. I quickly modified the oil-free moisturizing gel with green tea (which I had been working on for some time) and applied it to the area. The itching stopped immediately and after three days, the feel of the skin returned to normal and the warts disappeared.
The experience inspired the creation of Manuka Therapy: Intense Hydration (Skin Renewing Mask), Manuka Therapy: Green Tea Body Gel, and Manuka Therapy: Green Tea Body Cream.
